Yesterday had XML Exam at 9am. I reached school about 10min late, nearly can't finish the paper. Luckily still manage to finish it in time. Open-book exam, so need some time to do flipping, searching for answers, must run against time. After exam finished at 10am, I went to Downtown East, in an attempt to book a $1 promotional chalet. When I reached there, the queue outside the D'Marquee (the tentage in the middle of Downtown East) was not long, in fact less than 100 people. They are giving out 500 units only. I thought I will be able to book it for sure, so happily joined in the queue. However, after about 10min, the resort manager came out to announce that inside the tentage, there are already more 600+ people! He also mentioned that the first person in the queue came at 4.30pm the previous afternoon! I stood there for few more minutes, before deciding to leave the queue.

Along the way back home, I suddenly thought of going to Loyang Dua Pek Gong since I'm near the area. After calling my mother to check with her how to get there, I managed to reach there in 10min. Went in to pray, stayed for a little while, before returning home. Went downstairs to da bao Chicken Bryani for lunch. Also da bao back Popiah for my mother and her friends who were at our house. After having lunch, watched TV for a while before taking a nap. Woke up in the evening, took a shower, then continued to work on my mobile assignment. This time round is to do a WAP mobile bookstore. Then my ah gong came up just before 8pm. He stayed till 9pm before I drove him back. =) Chit chatted a bit with him on the way back. haha how nice, to talk cock with ah gong. Reached home, had dinner before continuing to work on the assignment. In the end, I managed to add some additional features and a documentation similar to Java API. :p Finally went to bed at 5+, feeling pleased with my own work.

FINALLY AN UPDATE!

Really can't squeeze out time to update my blog for the past 1.5 months. Partly also because I'm busy. Busy with school assignments, projects, and also Chinese New Year period in February.

For food updates, not much new discovery these months. I did try some new stalls such as 'Wu Zhao Pai' (No Signboard) at Geylang Road. Their crabs are wonderful. I believed there're a few other branches over Singapore as well. Just 2 days ago, father brought me to a new place which I've never been to before. Circuit Road, had a special steamboat dinner. The dishes were served and we get to choose which one we want, and reject those that we do not want. So it's like you choose what you eat and pay for what you choose. And it's nice! Still come with fresh 'hums'! I also can't really remember where else I have been eating.

For school, it's just endless assignments and quizzes, nothing new. The only thing that's new is I just completed a course that prepared me for a Java Certification by Sun. There are 3 lessons per week, each session is about 3 hours, so spent quite a lot of time there. Mr Lee Chit Boon is the lecturer in charge. Thanks to the materials he prepared for us and his time, I manage to finish this course, and took the real exam by Sun. I took the certification on Friday, 18th March 2005, and passed with 86%! Yes, extremely delighted with myself, as I believed I've put in a lot of effort and devoted quite some time for this. Been trying out lots of mock exam questions on the week before the exam. So, now I'm a Sun Certified Java Programmer for Java 2 Platform 1.4.!

For movies, I've watched quite a number of movies. Catched Jack Neo's "I Do I Do" on 1st night of Chinese New Year. I think I've watched all the films produced by Jack Neo. Some other movies includes "Hitch" by Will Smith, "Constantine". I just came back from watching "Hostage" with dear at Plaza Singapura. A nice show led by Bruce Willis. I was reluctant to watch while we were having dinner. Reason being I do not quite like action movie, I'm a 'si wen' person. However, it's still early after dinner, so I thought just catch a movie, accompany dear watch. Turned out to be a nice movie. Thanks dear for suggesting this movie. heh heh

I had also completed reading a book titled 'Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window' written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi. It is about the childhood recollections of one of Japanís most popular television personalities, and Toto-chan is non other than the author herself! Quoted paragraph from book's introduction: This engaging series of childhood recollections tells about an ideal school in Tokyo during World War II that combined learning with fun, freedom, and love. This unusual school had old railroad cars for classrooms, and it was run by an extraordinary man-its founder and headmaster, Sosaku Kobayashi - who was a firm believer in freedom of expression and activity. It's really a very nice book! I've seen it at bookstores a couple of years back but did not buy it then. This time round, I manage to borrow it from my brother's girlfriend. She happened to bring this book with her when she came to our house so I asked her if it's nice as I found the title interesting since a couple of years ago. She told me she could lend me the book if I'm interested. Of course I borrowed it from her! Thanks to her, even though she has not yet finished reading, she agreed to let me read it first.

Ok, that's all for now. There's an exam waiting for me tomorrow at 9am. XML and Mobile Web Services exam. Luckily it's an open-book exam. I shall turn in for the night now.
